I appreciate that you disagree with what I’ve written here, but I do feel a sense of awe in reading the Bible. To say that the Bible was written by ordinary men is not the same as saying that the writing and selection of texts is not guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit. I’m not going to walk through each step of Revelation with you, and I know it is very important to people that it actually be predicting something about to happen in Modern times. I just believe that it’s intended to speak to Christians about how we should align with Empire, and the message it teaches has been ignored.
No one is disputing whether or not Nineveh, Joppa, or Tarshish are real places, or whether or not Jonah was real for that matter.
If you are concerned about Biblical wonder perhaps you should write about that!
