I'm sorry to hear about your mother and I hope your son is doing better. Myocarditis is a known but rare side-effect of the vaccine, and like so many things with this virus, one's personal health is not a guarantee against it.
I think it is important to clarify, however, that the reason a fourth shot is being proposed is because Covid continues to evolve, and Omicron is better at evading vaccines than Delta was. In that context, boosters that can respond to specific strains make sense, and are in fact essentially what we do with the flu every year. If you do in fact get a flu vaccine each year, you might be familiar with what might have to happen with Covid. I get a flu vaccine each year to protect myself and to protect those who are vulnerable to serious illness from it.
I do want to respond to your last line though. There is absolutely no connection between the vaccine program and Nazi Germany, and I find the comparison to be ill-advised. Jews and other "undesirables" in Nazi Germany were stripped of their rights, their property, their dignity, and eventually their lives in order to suit the ideological needs of a murderous regime. In reality, vaccine mandates have already been a part of our lives for decades. If I hadn't gotten certain shots before going to Jordan, I would have been turned away at the airport. I was required to get certain vaccines before attended day care as a child. In most places in the country, there are no vaccine mandates of any kind beyond those put forward federally. Where there are mandates, they are desperate measures to try to control the spread of the virus and still keep businesses open. The alternatives are to close every again or let the virus spread unchecked, which will continue to burden or healthcare systems.
