Thank you for your response. I am not saying that the Bible supports abortion per se. In the ordeal fo the bitter waters, what is happening is that a poetential pregnancy is being terminated as a result of infidelity. That is a simple description of waht is happening in the passage. It has a specific context and doesn't support the use of abortion on demand, but it is an example of a pregnanacy being terminated in the Bible.

My concern is with the skay ground on which biblical arguments against abortion are based. To be honest, I think most of the authors of the Bible are neutral on abortion, to the point that it isn't addressed despite the fact that it was widely practiced in the ancient world. As I said, the Didache does say not get an abortion, but the didache is not scripture
